Compromise

com·pro·mise/ˈkämprəˌmīz/
Noun:  settlement of differences by arbitration or by consent reached by mutual concessions

This is how the word is defined by Websters.

This is the definition of the word compromise by democrats:

com·pro·mise/ˈkämprəˌmīz/
Noun:  settlement of differences by arbitration or by consent reached by mutual concessions as long as the settlement is what we, the Democratic Party, desire

Last night Henry Cuellar said the Tea Party was unwilling to compromise in the deal on the raising of the debt ceiling.  I beg to differ with him, but several Tea Party members voted for the legislation that was a compromise of positions the Tea Party originally held.  So, Henry, please tell the truth.

And at least the members were allowed to read the bill before having to vote.  Remember the health care bill.  Democrats forced the vote without even providing members the opportunity to read the legislation.   This was one of the reasons the Tea Party was able to steer the last elections and force the debate on the debt limit.  Otherwise, we would still be headed down the path of incurable debt.  At least now, the Tea Party has inserted some speed bumps, with more to come in the future.

The complaints about compromise are as weak as the speech in which the president called for national civility.  A promise he himself breaks daily.

Is it compromise to be in the minority party and leave town to stop a vote.  I cannot remember Republicans ever doing this.  Yet, I can remember three times in the last 10 or so years where Democrats have fled the state legislatures to avoid having to vote on issues they did not like.  And the media described them as hero’s making a stand.

I say the Tea Party are the hero’s who made a stand.

  1. Americans have compromised every two years for the last eighty years, give or take, on candidates who have lied through their teeth on promises.

Americans have compromised on moral, religious, social beliefs because we were told it is the only way to Progress a civil society past its prejudices.

Americans have compromised on teachings of Civics, Faith and History because we were told that we learn about too many "White men" so we have to be more diverse.

Look at we are in today,

Promises made can and will never be kept although those who made the promises for Progression are long gone and will never see the steaming pile they created.

Women are aborting children ad nauseam because they are irresponsible, men flee for the same reason. Parents largely leave parenting to the state and Welfare is fine with the 45 million able bodied Individuals accepting it and the hundreds of thousands of unemployed on insurance for more than 2 years.

We have lost sense of our History, Constitutional Republic and our Faith in God. Americans are attempting to reclaim the Individual Spirit but every time we get up we are kicked in the mouth by some government bureaucrat and knocked back down.

We are done with COMPROMISING, it is time to make a stand and re-establish our sovereign rights as Individuals in a Constitutional Republic.

  2. If you are done compromising tome then come forward and take credit (?) for the S&P downgrade...

S&P senior director Joydeep Mukherji said the stability and effectiveness of American political institutions were undermined by the fact that “people in the political arena were even talking about a potential default,” Mukherji said.
“That a country even has such voices, albeit a minority, is something notable,” he added. “This kind of rhetoric is not common amongst AAA sovereigns.”
